Our top picks close to this hotel

For families

Grevin is a kind of kitsch, retro version of Madame Tussauds where all the family can have their photograph taken with their favourite film stars, sports personality or celeb.  In addition, some great ‘historical moments’ such as the first moon landing are recreated and kids can be lost and amazed by the hall of mirrors.  A great, fun family day out.

For romance

Parc Montsouris is one of the most colourful of all of Paris’s many parks and gardens. With sweeping lawns, ornamental lakes and cascades this is a beautiful park in which to find yourself lying under the shade of a leafy tree and watch the world go by, preferably with a chilled glass of champagne in hand.

For culture

Les Catacombes is a haunting site to visit.  Many visitors to Paris bypass the 45 minute tour that takes you through the tumultuous history of Frances most turbulent time during the Revolution.  A network of tunnels extending for over 3000km under much of the city of Paris and feature an ossuary which holds the skeletal remains of 6 million people.  The tour of this staggering monument takes in renovated sections of this including caverns and parts of the damp, cramped tunnels.

For shopping

Bonton is a classic French kid’s boutique.  Crammed to the brim with cute as a button finds, clothes and accoutrements, even if you don’t have kid’s yourself you will want to buy something!

For eating out

Josselin is the only place to head to in Paris for a crepe or two.  Sweet, savoury but always a French classic, the crepes here are delicate and melt in the mouth.

For nightlife

There are cocktail bars and then there are cocktail bars. The mightily fine Experimental Cocktail Club falls into the latter category and does exactly what it says on the tin. Often voted as one of Paris’s coolest and best bars, this is a bar that has never heard the word ‘boring’.  Every drink served will delight and amaze you, and have you coming back for more.
