For some history, spend the day at Castello Storzesco. Twelve small museums combined into one, Storzesco also houses artwork by Leonardo da Vinci, as well as ancient furniture and artefacts dating back thousands of years.
Shoppers will be spoilt for choice at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the oldest mall in the area, which offers some fantastic designer and boutique stores.
A great way to see the more hidden parts of city is via the canals. We also recommend a trip to one of the many markets, a key part of Milanese life, where visitors will be spoilt for choice.
