In the local area

Brighton seafront has undergone somewhat of a resurgence in recent years and is now the place to hang out, especially on a hot summers day.  A generally ‘buzzy’ atmosphere helped along by the abundance of sporting ventures that take place in flurries along the esplanade – surfing, swimming, volleyball, sailing and skateboarding are all available should you want to work up a sweat.

If the beach is not your thing, the excellent Brighton Racecourse is a short drive away, and the keen spectator or punter can enjoy a full, action packed day at the races.  For thrills and spills, it doesn’t come much better than this! Alternately, take time to visit The Dome and Corn Exchange.  These exciting and historical venues were originally built to be part of the Prince Regents riding house and stables.  Little has changed structurally, but instead of the clip of hooves, the walls now reverberate to the sounds of the Brighton Festival (usually held in May) and other gigs and concerts.

Brighton Festival, a 3 week long annual celebration of the city, is held in varied venues, houses and gardens.  It showcases the best and most exciting acts and artists emerging from the land.  Dancers, artists, sculptors and bands are all strung together in dazzling threads of talent underpinned by support from well recognised and established figures and stalwarts of the entertainment industry.

But if your trip is more business bent, then nearby Brighton Centre is a renowned centre of excellence, whether it is for business, conferencing, banqueting or gigs.  This flexible space can be utilised in any number of ways, whilst also offering a packed schedule of events throughout the year.
