Where do you start? With so much to see and do all within a stone’s throw, this hotel is second to none.

Edinburgh is a stunning and multi faceted city and its castle presides over it all.  Perched on an extinct volcano, this symbol of Scottish strength and resilience is just a few minutes’ walk away from this hotel, and is well worth a visit. Located at the top of the Royal Mile, its tumultuous history is etched into its walls, and all translated through the informative and enthusiastic guides you are able to book.  Just make sure that you are ready for the 1 o’ clock gun which is fired at precisely that time, each day! (except Sundays, Good Friday and Christmas Day).

While you are at the castle, be sure to make the most of the views from the high and natural defensive position the building is situated on.  On a clear day, the vista from here is nothing short of magnificent, giving you a 360 degree city view, and if you are lucky, you may be able to see as far as Ben Lomand and the Firth of Forth!

An easy downhill walk from here will take you to different attractions in all directions, but many people head down to the famous Princes Street.  The main thoroughfare in Edinburgh, it is also a fabulous place to shop until you drop, and is home to big high street names and local shops.  Venture off Princes Street and you will find a brilliant array of bars, cafes and restaurants with a wide range of fare – from local Scottish to Pacific Rim, you will find all sorts of food and drink to help revive and nourish you.
